Stuart Scott Sanderson

April 6, 1964 ~ April 12, 2019 (age 55)

Stuart Scott Sanderson (“Scotty”)

SANDERSON, STUART SCOTT, resident of Centennial, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 12th, 2019, at the age of 55.  He was born in Denver on April 6th, 1964 to Maruta (“Marti”) Mang and Blaine Kay Sanderson Sr. (deceased) and later raised by step-father Richard H. Mang (deceased).   From an early age, Scotty was a friend to everyone, and in later years, a comforter to those he didn’t know, often giving people he saw on the bus his last few dollars “because I know they had it rougher than me”.  His laugh was unmistakable and his knack for comedic wit a rare gift.

Scotty was, foremost, an artist that found his expression in music, drawing and painting.  Never requiring a photo or drive to the mountains for inspiration, he simply “saw in his mind” what he wanted to paint.  That same sharp memory served our family as he frequently recalled events otherwise long lost.   As a bass player, he was a part of many local bands, enjoying his greatest success with “The Skip Notes.”  For years he kept many customers happy throughout the South Metro area, building and repairing sprinkler systems under his “Yo Sprinkler Dude” moniker.

He is further survived by his sweetheart, Susie Toms, brothers, Blaine Sanderson Jr (Robin), Christopher Sanderson and sister, Alana Sanderson Artzer, Aunt Anda Schaaf, Uncle Winston Sanderson, cousins Anne Berstler (Mike), Eric Schaaf (Leni) and Kent Schaaf (Martina), nieces Lauren McDonough (Andrew), Maiya Sanderson, Mikayla Miller and nephews Hunter and Holden Artzer, great-nephew Patrick McDonough, as well as step-brothers Spencer (Stephanie) and Alex (Terresa) Jorgensen.

Viewing will be held at the Bullock Colonial Chapel (1375 E. Hampden Avenue) on Wednesday, April 17th from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m,. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. followed by a time of visiting with his family and friends.
