Rhona J. King
Rhona J. King, 98, of Denver, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, September 20, 2018.
Rhona was a native of Denver, the adopted daughter of the late Joseph J. and Hazel Cornell. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Metro State University with a BA degree in elementary education. Although she felt like she was too old to be a teacher, Rhona was a well-loved teacher’s aide in the Englewood Schools.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Raymond W. King; sons and daughter in-laws, Sherman Joseph and Marlene Logsdon; Fredrick and Rosie Logsdon.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Donna Cubbedge and Donald King (Kim); Grandchildren; Lance Logsdon, Sherman Robert Logsdon, Chris Logsdon, Mark Logsdon, Katrina Logsdon, Jennifer Savage, Katherine Sailors (Mark), Shawn Settle (Trey), Nicole Sealy (Shawn), Ryan Gray, Stephanie Abramovici (Daniel); 24 Great Grandchildren; 1 Great Great Granddaughter; many nieces and nephews and Friends.
Rhona was a member of Englewood United Methodist Church, then Spirit of Hope United Methodist Church since 1950. Rhona was a member of the Lamplighter Sunday school class and the American Legion. She was a Girl Scout and Cub Scout leader for many years.
Rhona loved the Colorado outdoors, especially camping and fishing in the mountains.
Visitation will be 5-7 pm Monday, September 24, 2018, at Bullock Mortuary, 1375 E Hampden Ave, Englewood, Co 80113.
Her Life will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 25, 2018, at 2:00 pm at Spirit of Hope United Methodist Church, 3885 S Broadway, Englewood, Co 80113
Internment at Fort Logan National Cemetery, 4400 W Kenyon Ave, Denver, Colorado at 10 am, Thursday, September 27, 2018.
Memorials may be made to the Spirit of Hope United Methodist Church or the Humane Society of South Platte Valley.
