Margaret Ruth Rozendaal(Vander Kooi), of Denver, Colorado passed away peacefully on Wednesday morning, September 4, 2019, one week short of her 79th Birthday. She was born in south Denver on Sept. 11, 1940, the first born of Charles Jr. and Grace (Klomp) Vander Kooi. She married her loving husband, Wayne, on August 18, 1959, celebrating 60 years of marriage before her passing. After being stationed with the Army in Huntsville, Alabama, they came back to Denver to make their permanent home in 1962. She was mother to two sons, Steven Wayne, and Scott Allen. In addition, she was very family oriented and a loving Grandmother to 6 grandchildren, Samantha, Taylor (and Logan) Winborn and Devyn from Steve and Mary (Lemcke) and Alyssa, Justin and Jonathan from Scott and Laurie (Fleck). She lived a life of dedicated service, working for Denver Public Schools, Bethesda Hospital and Quiet Waters Ministries where she loved meeting the needs of struggling pastors and their families. Dedicated to the learning and teaching of God's Word, she taught and participated in many Bible Studies throughout her life, including Coffee Break at 1st Christian Reformed Church. She was proceeded in death by both of her younger siblings, sister Jessie Witt and brother, Charles Vander Kooi III. Most importantly, she walked closely with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ her entire life and was a strong, yet gentle Christian witness and example of Christ's love to family and friends alike.
Visitation will be held at the Bullock Colonial Chapel on Wednesday, September 11, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.. Memorial services will be held at First Christian Reformed Church on Thursday, September 12, 2019 at 11:00 a.m.. Private graveside services will be held at Fort Logan National Cemetery.
