Obituary

Ella was born in Seneca Kansas on Dec 13, 1928 to William Henry and Mary S Huls.  She had two sisters  Betty Sandersfield and Jerry Comstock.  She was the oldest and she loved her sisters.  She would tell us about the dust storms in Texas and how her mom would not let her go out swimming in a bikini.  They moved to Colorado where she meet her husband Omar Eugene Bowman at a High School basketball game.  She had four children and was so proud of each of them.  She worked at Wilkerson Corp for 40 years and her boss loved her penmanship so much he put in her in charge of the inventory department.  One thing that is undeniable is that Ella had a heart of GOLD.  One Christmas one of her co-workers did not have money for presents so Ella bought her flour so she could make cookies for presents.  Ella loved taking care of  nine of her nieces and nephews.   Ella retired from Wilkerson  and started working at Walmart part time, she would tell stories of having to chase down shoplifters.  She enjoyed when Santa and the Easter bunny would visit Walmart store.  Ella  would always have a picture taken just like a little kid.  She would attend church every morning to say the rosary and when Ella moved to Porter Place she say the rosary in the morning and night in her room.  She liked going downstairs at Porter Place and having meals with her friends.  Ella would not go without putting on her wig, makeup and couple of tissues in her sleeve.   Her nurses and caretakers at Porter Place said mom always had a smile on her face.   Her family threw her a party in December for her 90th birthday.  She was so proud to have her family and friends around her to celebrate.  She said that was her first birthday party.  Ella loved to play Bingo with her sister Betty and her family.   She seem to have the luck with her most of the time.  She loved playing cards and getting together with her family.  She was hard on all of her kids and grandchildren, she wanted them to succeed.  Ella was a grandmother to 11 and had 7 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.  Ella had unconditional LOVE for all 23 of her children.   Ella Mae passed way at Porter Hospital surround by her family on July 3rd at 12:39 am.
