Anthony E. Buschbach, of Denver, CO, passed away Monday, June 3, 2019 in his home at the age of 101. A Memorial Service will be held, Saturday, June 15, 2019 at 2:00PM at the Hope Fellowship Christian Reformed Church located at 2400 South Ash Street, Denver, CO. There will be a visitation at Bullock Mortuary, Friday, June 14, 2019 from 4:30 to 8:00PM. Interment will be Monday, June 17, 2019 at 9:00 AM in Fort Logan National Cemetery, Staging Area "A". In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Rocky Mountain Honor Flight at rockymountainhonorflight.org.
Anthony was born on March 8, 1918 in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, the son of Anthony E. and Hilda (Cloo) Buschbach. In 1920, the family immigrated to Holland, MI and in 1929 the family moved to Denver, CO. He graduated from South High School and served in the U.S. Army from 1942 to 1945. After the service, he attended and graduated from Denver University. On December 14, 1945 he married Martha Mulder. During his nearly 50 year working career, Tony worked for Dieter Bookbinding Co., Safeway, USPS, Eaton Metal Products, Stanley Aviation, Martin Marietta, Parking Systems and Beth Israel Hospital, retiring in 1986.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha, his parents, four siblings; Jake Buschbach, Clasina Brandsma, Wilma Buschbach, and Elizabeth Buschbach.
He is survived by his children; Mary Ellen Hummel (Ken), David Buschbach (Norene), Marsha Buschbach, and Bruce Buschbach (Arlene); eleven grandchildren; twenty-six great grandchildren and two great, great grandchildren; also one sister, Ida Hoogendoorn (Jack).
He was a faithful member of First Reformed Church, Denver, CO most of his life where he served as a deacon, elder, and sang in a men’s quartet and the choir. He served for six years on the board of University Hills Christian Living Center, now known as Clermont Park.
Tony was admired and respected by those who knew him and deeply loved by his family.
